NewscastStudio assembled a panel of TV news experts to rate the best of 2014’s news set designs based on overall visual aesthetics, use of technology, creative use of budget, and flexibility. Competition was tough in the largest category, local news.
For a record fourth year in a row, Devlin Design Group came out on top and is awarded the trophy ‘2014, Set of the Year’, for its ground-breaking design created for WAGA, FOX5 Atlanta.
The winning set includes an innovative pivoting video wall that literally comes alive, and presents itself apart from a large storytelling video wall, much like the opening of a book cover. The set also features a moveable anchor desk, color changing RGB LED patterned walls, multiple video towers, a large touchscreen, and a social media kiosk, all designed for maximum storytelling flexibility.
Adding to the excitement, Team DDG’s exhibit booth design also drew the top honor, capturing the ‘2015, NAB Show, ACE Award’ for exhibit design. Tradeshow industry luminaries selected the DDG design for “an excellent job of combining creativity in visual design and communication effectiveness.”
The 2015 Devlin Design Group booth design embodies the company’s brand values, Creativity, Knowledge and Innovation. Guests at the booth were invited to participate in a hands on experience, including a storytelling video wall, a touch screen kiosk, RGB LED color changing walls, and lighting demonstrations by Brightline.
